Let's Go!

Let's go to Spain! We are going to be taking a trip to Spain without even having to leave the classroom! To do this we have to work hard to learn all we can about Spain. Spain is a country across the Atlantic Ocean in Europe. We won't be taking a boat, a plane, or a car though, we will be travelling through learning and presentation. Let's get to work learning about this fascinating country!

Finding Facts #1

Go to this website and you will find many facts about Spain. On the right hand side of the page you will see a box titled Spanish Culture with a list under it. For this part of the project you are to find information in these items from the list:

Customs- Name one custom of Spain and briefly describe it

Painters- On the top of the page there is a list of painters. Too read about them you need to click on their name. Read about these three painters: Picasso, Dali, and Miro. What are their full names? What are their birth and death dates? What type of painting are they famous for?

Music- I bet you know one of these singers! On the top of the page there are pictures of musicians that are either from Spain or are part of Spanish culture because of the Spanish language. Click on the picture of a musician you know and one that you don't know and tell me their name and something interesting about them.

Flamenco- Flamenco is a very important part of Spanish culture. What is flamenco? What are the three forms of flamenco? Who invented flamenco? Name a flamenco guitar player.

Fiestas- Read about two different fiestas. What is the name of the fiesta? What is it for? Where does it take place?
